Headlines from BBC World News Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has announced his back in the country on his official Twitter account. Mr. Chavez had been in Cuba since December last year, where he was receiving treatment for cancer. Gunmen in the Nigeria city of Bauchi have abducted 7 foreign construction workers in the biggest kidnapping in the Northern of the country in recent times. The security guard of the compound was shot dead. Italian, Philippian, British, Greek and Lebanese workers are said to be among those abducted. BBC has apologized for any disruptions to its broadcasts today as journalists stage a 24-hour strike over job cuts. Members of the national union of journalists have walked out in protest against compulsory redundancies, and picket lines have been set up outside a number of BBC offices.
