There exist loopholes in realizing TCP / IP Protocol Stack of the previous Windows 3.1/95/NT systems and Linux kernel. The remote attackers may, availing themselves of the loopholes, carry out denial-of-service attack against the server and cause a crash or collapse of the host.

早期的Windows 3.1/95/NT系统及Linux内核2.0.32版本之前的TCP/IP实现在重组不正常的重叠IP分片时存在问题，当操作系统收到这种不正常的IP 分片包时可能导致不正常不稳定的系统行为从连接丢失到系统崩溃。此漏洞相关信息在新闻组和邮件列表中可以用syndrop、overdrop、 nestea为关键字搜索到。

When realizing the early TCP/IP protocol of Windows 3.1/95/NT systems and Linux kernel (prior to 2.0.32 Edition), there are problems in reorganization of the abnormal overlapping fragments. When the operating system receives this abnormal fragment IP packet, it may lead to abnormal and unstable system behaviors, from network connection lost to system collapse. The relevant information about such loopholes may be searched by inputting the keywords ‘syndrop, overdrop or nestea’ in the newsgroup or mailing lists.

Even a specially processed packet can trigger the denial-of-service of a NT 4.0 host and cause the failure of local network management and telecommunications. Such an attack will cause the failure of normal execution of ‘service’ and thus leading to the loss of function of the host to execute tasks via ‘named pipes’. The consequences may include: the user can not realize remote login, off-line operation, management registry, creation of a new file-sharing connection and remote management. IIS service, accordingly, will not maintain normal execution

问题出在srvsvc.dll对services.exe的调用方式上，某些MSRPC调用将返回不能被Services.exe正确解释的无效值，因此引发了services.exe的瘫痪。

The problem lies in the call mode of srvsvc.dll towards services.exe, some MSRPC call will return invalid values that can not be correctly interpreted by services.exe, and thus triggers the crash in services.exe
