我原先想把踏板车译成:pedal type motorcycle 可是查了GOOGLE 不支持. 想到一个词: scooter webster字典给scooter的解释是：a child's foot-operated vehicle consisting of a narrow footboard mounted between two wheels tandem with an upright steering handle attached to the front wheel 而给motor scooter的解释是：a low 2- or 3-wheeled automotive vehicle resembling a child's scooter and having a seat so that the rider does not straddle the engine 与我们的踏板车完全吻合。 宝马公司新近推出的一种带篷的二轮船形摩托车就叫作：city scooter，有家德国杂志则称它为：car scooter 可见，motor scooter就是我们的踏板车

 Re. 发表于2004/11/19 14:54:00完全同意MOTOR SCOOTER 的译法. 这在译典中就有呀,不过没有这位仁兄解释的这么详尽,佩服,是做学问的吧!
