3.1.2 Humans.3.1.2 人类Published trials of human lutein bioavailability are briefly reviewed in the text that follows and key kinetic parameters of these studies are summarized in Table 3.1.2-1. The data from these trials demonstrate that serum or plasma lutein concentrations increase in response to lutein supplementation and identify some factors that influence the bioavailability and absorption of lutein. Notable among these factors are the amount of lutein consumed, the matrix in which the lutein is incorporated, and the form of lutein. Trials in which the lutein form was similar to the intended source of lutein for use in infant formulae and follow-on formulae, where the foodmatrix was related to the intended products, and where the dose was similar to the intended fortification levels were considered the most relevant.
