Experience
Pacific Valves has been manufacturing valves for this very difficult service for over 50 years. We are considered the pioneers of this type of valve. In fact, we are the only valve manufacturer originally approved by all the major hydro -fluoric acid licensors (U.O.P., Phillips Petroleum and Chevron) in all sizes and pressure ranges.
Primary monel parts are color coded to assure proper material identification.We do not stop here. Before any monel part is assembled into a hydrofluoric acid valve it is acid tested to assure that it is monel. Another important aspect in the manufacture of these valves is the clearances at the critical metal interfaces (wedge/body guides, stem/back seat bushing, etc.). Hydrofluoric acid will react with carbon steel and monel producing a fluoride buildup on the metal surfaces which can render the valve inoperable. These clearances, developed over years of manufacturing experience, testing and research, must be precisely controlled to allow for this buildup. Our experience has enabled us to consistently produce valves that give the best performance for this stringent service.
Certified Quality
All of our pressure tests and material checks are witnessed by an inspector who signs off on their accuracy. A laminated card is then attached to the valve with each test and material check indicated, as certification to our customer that these procedures have been followed. Every valve comes with this certification attached to it.
Every Valve is Tested
We test 100% of our hydrofluoric acid valves with kerosene. Our experience indicates that kerosene is the most ideal test media for the following reasons:
It prevents water entrapment; water entrapped in the valve internals will accelerate corrosion.
It assures casting quality; kerosene is less viscous than water thus will locate a casting defect more readily than other test fluids.
It provides seat test reliability; again, the viscosity of kerosene provides a more reliable seat leakage indication.
We test our hydrofluoric acid valves at extended time periods that further assure the quality of the valve performance. In addition, we test our HF Acid valves with Helium at 300 PSI to insure the casting integrity.
Large in-house Inventory
Recognizing the need to continue our service beyond initial installation we have committed to the refiners and licensors that an inventory of hydrofluoric acid valves will be maintained at Pacific Valves. We routinely carry valves in inventory that meet the licensor′s specification for quick delivery to your plant.

检测每个阀门
我们采用煤油对我们所有的氢氟酸阀门进行100%的检测。由于下列理由,我们的经验表明煤油是最理想的检测流体介质:
防止水滞留。滞留在阀门内部构件的水会加速腐蚀。
确保铸件质量。煤油的粘性比水小,因此比其他测试流体更容易定位铸件的缺陷位置。
提高阀座检测的可靠性。煤油的粘性小这个优点,再一次使得定位阀座泄漏位置更加可靠。
我们加长了检测我们的氢氟酸阀门的时间段,这样就进一步保证了阀门性能的质量。此外,我们是在300 PSI的氦介质下检测我们的氢氟酸阀门,以确保铸件的整体性。
