The French national assembly has voted in favor of legalizing same-sex marriages. The approval came after months of debate and numerous protests that had occasionally become violent and divided the country. A British businessman has been convicted of fraud for selling fake bomb detectors. James McCormick, who’s thought to have made millions of dollars from the deals, knew the devices were completely useless. Two men have appeared in court in Canada accused of plotting an Al-Qaeda linked plan to derail a passenger train. The two, who are not Canadian citizens, are charged with conspiracy to murder and association with the terrorist group. A car bomb exploded outside the French embassy in the Libya capital Tripoli, wounding two French guards and several residents. Part of the embassy was destroyed and the neighboring shops and homes were damaged. Those are the latest headlines from BBC World News.
