Police in Boston investing the scene of Monday’s deadly twin bomb attacks have found pieces of nylon which they say could be from the backpack used to conceal one or both of the devices, as well as ball bearings and nails. Police say the devices may have been constructed from pressure cookers. The blasts within seconds with each other killed 3 people including an 8-year old boy and injured more than 170.

An envelope addressed to United States senator has tested positive for the deadly poison Ricin. The letter was intercepted at a mail facility in Washington. The senator’s majority leader Harry Reeds said it was addressed to Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi.

A powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake has shaken southeastern Iran close to the border with Pakistan. No casualties have been confirmed so far in Iran, but across the border Pakistani army officers say more than 30 people were killed. 

The leader of the opposition in Venezuela Henrique Capriles has called off the demonstrations planed for Wednesday over disputed presidential elections. Mr. Capriles blamed the government was plotting to infiltrate to trigger new violence. 

An American airline says it has fixed the malfunctioned computer systems which grounded its flights in the United States. The airline said a problem had occurred in its booking and reservation system. But it warned that passengers could expect further delays and cancellations. 

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has expressed he’s alarmed at the deteriorating security situation in the Central Africa Republic has been found violence in the capital Bangui.

Scientists in the United States have designed a new way to hold skin grafts in place by using a patch covered with microscopic needles. The needles swell on context with moisture, so that the patch grapes firmly to wet skin, performing the same function as stitches or staples but causing less tissue damage.
