Tens of thousands of supporters of Venezuela’s late president Hugo Chavez are lining the streets to see his coffin passing through Caracas. His body is lying in state at the military academy, into a public funeral, a state funeral on Friday. Chavez had seriously ill of cancer for more than a year. 

United Nations says the armed fighters have seized 20 of its peacekeepers in the Golan Heights in Syria. In a video posted on the internet, the hostages are heard saying that the UN convoys will not be released until forces loyal to the Syrian president withdraw from the village of Jamla. 

A court in Egypt has suspended parliamentary elections due next month saying the law cover the election is need to be reviewed. Egypt’s presidency is appealing the decision. 

And spoiled votes in Kenya’s presidential election have hiked tensions in the country. Both candidates have opposing views on whether the growing number of the spoiled ballot should be included in that vote.
